Perception of Beauty Standards

We hear people talking about bright smile, skinny waist, crystal clear skin and many more such things numerous times of the day. What exactly is these beauty standards? Beauty standards are some standards or eligibility set by the society to consider an individual as “Beautiful”. Most of these standards are absurdly unrealistic and difficult to achieve.

Every country has their own set of beauty standards to be considered as an ideal type. The inspiration behind all these standards are usually celebrities and models, who get numerous surgeries and procedures to look in a certain way. Not only women but men too have become prey to this trend. This has led lot of people to feel insecure.

Not only teenagers but people from all age groups are obsessing over them. Resulting in them getting numerous expensive and fatal surgeries. The surprising fact about these beauty standards is they change drastically over less period of time. This toxic trend has led to eating disorder, mood disorder, body dysmorphia, anxiety, depression and many more in the mind of our young generation.

The way to stop this destructive tradition is to display inclusivity on higher platforms. Implanting self-love starting from ourselves to our family, friends and even strangers. Self-acceptance is the key! Standing against negative body shaming comments of the society. Flaws makes you unique from others and there’s nothing more amazing than being unique!
